Wedding Reception Masquerade (Phantom of the Opera theme)

We finally edited the pictures from Britney's Wedding. I really loved the way the decorations came together with their venue Chantilly Mansion in Layton, Utah. Wish we could have decorated more but we had very limited set up time. Almost everything had to be made before hand and just set in place.  Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed putting it all together.

The guest book table .

  For the guest book table we used a

a matching guestbook & pen set we picked up for less then 5 dollars at Hobby Lobby on clearance . We just added glitter, sticker, letters for their names and music notes for decoration.Our candelabra was once a lamp we bought at a yard sale for $3 dollars. We removed all of the wiring and some hardware replaced the white tubing ( faux candles) with candle cups then we use battery operated candles. The pomander is made up of 35 dollar store roses (6-7 per bush) a softball size wiffle ball we covered in moss and a lot of hot glue. The little gold turtle doves are Christmas ornaments bought after Christmas we clipped to the flower petals on top of the pomander.

For the sashes we used wired ribbon and music note pins. The pins were handmade by us, from corn starch & baking soda clay recipe we found here. 

Aisle markers

Aisle Markers were Christmas ornaments we picked up for 10 cents each after Christmas. We spray painted them to gold and hand painted the jewels with a high gloss black to match the brides colors.

DIY Paper Toss Bouqet

Last week we made a toss bouquet for Britany's Phantom of the Opera themed wedding! It turned out so cute we wanted to share it! We made these lovely paper roses from sheet music we downloaded and then coffee dyed. We used these great tutorials we found Here to dye the sheet music and the paper rose tutorial we found Here. We pretty much followed these tutorial to the letter the only thing we changed was adding a paper collar to the bouquet to hide the stems.
For the collar we drew a circle on light weight poster board just big enough to cover the underside of the bouquet. Then we found the center of the circle and cut a slit to that point. Then cut another circle  and put the stems though and over lapped the the ends of the slits until the poster board made a cone and fit snugly under the rose heads. Then we stapled the overlapped edges and together.
To cover the poster board we simply spray painted a coffee filter gold and fitted it over the cone poster board (the filter just happened to be the right size about an inch larger than the circle so it peaked out around the rose heads). The same way we fitted the cone on the bouquet only gluing the filter to the cone with white glue.

We think it turned out really cute and so did the bride to be!

3 DIY Bridal Party Flowers with a Phantom of the Opera theme: #3 Bridesmaid Bouquets

Here's our 3rd installment on the bridal party flowers the bridesmaid bouquets!

One large red rose stem 

One small red rose bush 8 heads

One small black rose bush 8 heads

Floral tape

Sheer gold ribbon

Crystal headed corsage pins (cut to one inch)

To add our own twist to the bouquet we put the large red single stem rose in the middle and placed 3 black roses around it on the same level.We then taped the level together and placed a small red rose in between the black roses slightly lower and taped them to the first four. The next row we just alternated the black and red roses until we had a round shape. Next we added the black rose leaves from the black rose spray until you can no longer see the wire stems like this:

We wrap all the steams tightly together with the floral tape from top to bottom. Next we wrapped the stems with the gold ribbon from top to bottom then back up to the top. We then folded the cut end of the ribbon under and used one of the corsage pins to hold it in place. We put our bow just above the pin. Next we cut the corsage pins down to 1 inch with the wire cutters and hot glued them in the middle of the red roses.
